![]() ![]() You are right, Jinx does whatever she thinks will make her feel better.Įp 4: Doing the job Silco gave her, being usefulĮp 5?: For laughs and to feel strong (for Silco and herself)Įp 6: She wanted to kill caitlyn because she thought she was taking her sister away. Even if the butterflies are meant to specifically target Enforcers, they still catch a "designated civilian" (disarmed Cait) in the collateral damage with lethal force, even if the shrapnel didn't hit anything vital.Īt the end of Ep 8 and into Ep 9, Jinx is focused on specific individuals, and doesn't really engage in "combat" per-se, but does kidnap an apparent civilian (cait) and deliberately attempt to kill a group of civilians (the council, which she knew were attempting to achieve a diplomatic solution). She's mostly isolated from any wanton violence from then until the end of Ep 6 because she's researching the gemstone.Įp 6 sees a second engagement dictated by the Firelights.Įp 7 has the bridge scene, but again, that engagement is largely dictated by the Enforcers and Marcus, not Jinx. When she bombs the enforcers, it's a night so that there are fewer withnesses. When she engages the firelights in Ep 4, it's on Silco's airship and the firelights chose the time and place of the engagement. ![]() The lack of apparent civilan casualties seems more to be a product of there being no civilians around in those situations for reasons incidental to any apparent reluctance from Jinx in killing civilians. Furthermore, this lends further credence to my observation earlier - Jinx, however mad she may be, does not target civilians. This might also explain why the show had Cupcake trade away her weapon - by symbolically giving up on the path of violence, she survives the encounter on the bridge. This explains why they ignore Vi, Caitlyn, and Ekko, as none of them were armed at that point. I believe that the bombs are designed to seek out firearms, to ensure they take out enforcers instead of just exploding in random places. Jinx doesn't seem to control them directly (not to mention individually managing that many bugs is going to be difficult) but just releases them in the general direction of the bridge. The butterflies need some sort of control/targeting mechanism to be used. Was just rewatching Episode 7 again, and I noticed a tiny little detail - the mechanical butterflies land on the guns.
